Uzbekistani children, deprived of parental care and in need of assistance, returned to Uzbekistan on April 16, as reported by Dunyo information agency.

The repatriation process of 17 minors was facilitated by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, together with the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan, and representatives from the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Health.

The embassy issued for the children to facilitate their return home, the message read.

Upon arrival in Uzbekistan, the minors will be placed under the care of relatives and special children’s institutions.

It was previously noted that Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions abroad maintain a record of unaccompanied Uzbekistani children and take measures for their repatriation. These matters are addressed in accordance with Uzbekistan’s international agreements.

In 2022, a total of 43 children, left without parental care abroad, were repatriated to Uzbekistan.
