The concept of development of Bukhara city until 2045 was presented to president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to the region on 31 May, Uzbekistan 24 TV channel reported.

The project, presented by construction minister Batir Zakirov. envisages coordinated development of all city systems, creating an efficient transport network, with walking and cycling paths, using cost-effective ways to link existing districts with new ones, “ensuring their equal development and reducing disparities between them”.
The territory of Bukhara is expected to expand from current 14,300 hectares by additional 3,831 hectares at the expense of the lands from Bukhara district, deputy hokim of Bukhara region Jalol Arashov said.
The concept includes a tourist center that will be connected to a new airport in Bukhara region by a 15-km road. Additionally, construction of a new railway station is anticipated, he said.
The New Uzbekistan district will also be built in Bukhara on an area of 44 hectares, to include 111 houses with over 7,000 apartments.
Besides, it is planned to construct the New Uzbekistan park on 30 hectares. The president approved the park project.
