The acting Defense Ministry head of Afghanistan assured Abdusalom Azizov of the readiness of Afghan defense and security forces to offer any cooperation and support for development projects across all sectors.

In late October, a major delegation from Uzbekistan, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev and five ministers, visited Afghanistan. The sides expressed their intention to increase trade between the countries to $3 billion a year. Additionally, the Taliban requested a reduction in fees for the transit of Afghan goods through Uzbekistan.
