Prices for drinking water supply and sewerage services are raised in Tashkent. This decision was approved by the kengash (council) of members of parliament (MPs) of the capital city on November 24.

In particular, for individuals, budgetary organizations and wholesale consumers the price per cubic meter of water is set at 1,400 soums (now — 400 soums without taking into account the coefficient and surcharge), for sewerage services — 1,000 soums (350 soums without taking into account the coefficient and surcharge). For legal entities tariffs are three times the previous price — from 1,000 to 3,000 soums for a cubic meter of drinking water and 820 to 2,200 soums for sewerage services.

The new rates will come into force 15 days after the decision is published, i.e. on December 9.

Last time tariffs were raised in January 2021. As a reminder, the tariffs for drinking water supply and sewerage services include a special surcharge. An increasing coefficient of 1.5 is applied.

Earlier, the enterprise Toshkent Shahar Suv Ta’minoti (Tashkent city water supply organization) justified the need to raise tariffs by a sharp change in the increased water supply and sewerage system maintenance costs.

“The suggested prices for drinking water and sewerage services are still below those in the regional parts of the republic, including Tashkent region,” the company pointed out.
