On April 18−19, president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Tajikistan, the president’s press service announced.

He will hold talks with president of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe and participate in several bilateral meetings and joint events.

“The agenda includes further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance,” the statement reads.

Particular emphasis will be placed on promoting cooperation projects in trade, industry, agriculture, energy, transportation, and other sectors. The themes will also cover expansion of interregional contacts, cultural, humanitarian, and tourist exchange.

Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will exchange views on topical international and regional matters.

Following the summit, a “comprehensive package” of bilateral documents will be adopted.
