Production of Ravon R4 model, designed for sale in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, began at GM Uzbekistan’s plant in Asaka, Andijan region.
First cars have already been shipped to Russia, the Uzbek-US joint venture’s press service said. In the near future, GM Uzbekistan plans to send cars to other markets.
Ravon R4 (locally Chevrolet Cobalt) has an updated exterior design and is equipped with a 1.5 liter B-DOHC engine and automatic transmission in highest modifications.
R4's active and passive safety system includes driver and front passenger airbags, enforced back seats and child safety seat attachment system (ISOFIX), as well as antilock braking system and daytime running lights.
