UzA distributed the obituary to the poet Abdulla Oripov signed by the country’s leadership, including prime minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Senate chairman Nigmatilla Yuldashev, Legislative Chamber speaker Nurdinjon Ismoilov, chairman of Writers Union Muhammadali Ahmedov and others.
Famous Uzbek poet, author of the country’s state anthem, Hero of Uzbekistan and public figure, Abdulla Oripov was a parliamentary deputy and a senator. He died at age of 75 in Houston (Texas, USA), and his funeral took place in Tashkent on Thursday.
