Uzbekneftegaz chairperson Bahodir Sidikov recently met with the CEO of Five Petroleum to discuss launching a chain of gas stations under the Malaysian company’s brand.
The meeting also covered the implementation of modern technologies and international standards to improve product and service quality.
Five Petroleum is additionally exploring the development of transport and logistics infrastructure in various regions of Uzbekistan.
Both parties agreed to deepen their partnership and advance initiatives of strategic importance to Uzbekistan’s fuel and energy sector.
Last summer, Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Malaysia met with Five Petroleum Malaysia’s founder and CEO King Lim Chin Fui to discuss investment opportunities in the country and the implementation of projects in Samarkand region.
The Malaysian entrepreneur also expressed interest in collaborating with Uzbekistan’s companies on soft drink production and aluminum can supply.
An agreement was also reached to establish a network of gas stations in Tashkent, equipped with modern facilities, with plans to expand to other regions in the future.
Founded in 2020, the Five Petroleum brand currently operates over 110 gas stations across Malaysia. The company also holds a 60% stake in BHPetrol, which manages more than 400 gas stations.
