President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended condolences to president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and president of Russia Vladimir Putin following the Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane crash near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, which claimed numerous lives, president’s press secretary Sherzod Asadov announced.
“The head of our state conveyed wishes for a swift recovery to all those injured,” Sherzod Asadov noted.
The plane carrying out a flight from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau. It was carrying 67 people, including crew members. Among the passengers were 37 citizens of Azerbaijan, 6 from Kazakhstan, 3 from Kyrgyzstan and 16 from Russia.
According to the latest data from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, 29 people, including two children, survived the crash and were hospitalized.
