President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the extraordinary session of the People’s Deputies Council of Navoi region on 25 December, press service of the head of state said.
In his speech at the session, President proposed senator Kabul Tursunov to be appointed as hokim (head of administration) of the region. The council approved this proposal.
Prior to appointment, Kabul Tursunov was chairman of the Senate’s Committee for budget and economic reforms.
Previous head of Navoi region Erkin Turdimov was recently elected hokim of the southern Surkhandarya region.
