Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan on 9 December named Shavkat Mirziyoyev elected President of the country.

According to final results of the elections that took place on 4 December, a total of 17,951,667 citizens or 87.73% of the total registered number of voters (20,461,805) cast their votes.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, candidate from the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP), received 15,906,724 or 88,61% of all votes.

Hatamjon Ketmonov of the People’s Democratic party of Uzbekistan received 669,187 or 3,73%, Narimon Umarov of Adolat (Justice) Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, 619,972 or 3,46% and Sarvar Otamuratov of Milliy Tiklanish (National Revival) Democratic Party of Uzbekistan 421,055 or 2,35% of votes.

The Central Election Commission said the elections were held in compliance with the Constitution of Uzbekistan and the electoral legislation.
