Delegation of Uzbekistan headed by deputy head of the State Flight Safety Inspection Oleg Lim visited Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, on 30 November. The delegation included representatives of Uzbekistan Airways, national air company.

Civil aviation authorities of Uzbekistan got acquainted with Dushanbe International airport, including the platform, new international passenger terminal, CIP hall and arrival lounge, press service of Dushanbe airport said.

Following the talks at the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, the sides signed a protocol on cooperation and resumption of air communication between Tashkent and Dushanbe.

The first flight is scheduled for early 2017. According to the protocol, flights will be operated twice a week by Somon Air (Tajikistan) and Uzbekistan Airways (Uzbekistan).

There has been no air communication between two countries since 1992.
