Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan registered the representative office of the Latvian non-governmental organization Cleantech Latvia.

According to the ministry press service, the Uzbek branch of the NGO plans to promote projects on modernization and reconstruction of infrastructure in the environmental field.

Cleantech Latvia also intends to help develop cooperation between organizations of Uzbekistan and the European Union in the field of environmental protection, introduction of “green” technologies in national economy and agriculture.

Cleantech Latvia was established in 2006 with headquarter in Riga. It stands for diverse range of products, services, and processes that harness renewable materials and energy sources, dramatically reduce the use of natural resources, and cut or eliminate emissions and wastes. The founder of the NGO is the Latvian Association of biotechnology, the financing is provided by the European Regional Development Fund and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia.
