Automobile and railroad bridges across Amudarya river connecting transport routes of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will be opened in the beginning of the next year, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The head of Turkmenistan was speaking at the opening of the Global Conference on Sustainable Transport on Saturday in Ashgabat, State News Agency of Turkmenistan said. The event was held under the aegis of the UN.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the new bridges will be the largest in the region and significantly speed up traffic flow in both directions.
