Acting President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received foreign minister of China Wang Yi on 12 November, UzA reported.
During the meeting, the sides praised consistent development of the Uzbek-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership and agreed to continue regular dialogue at the highest level.
Wang Yi confirmed commitment of China’s leadership to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan on all perspective directions that meet long-term interests of the two countries.
China is one of the leading trade and investment partners of Uzbekistan. The annual volume of trade turnover between the countries exceeds USD 4 billion. To date, more than USD 6.5 billion worth of Chinese investment and loans have been attracted in implementation of projects in Uzbekistan.
Before arriving in Tashkent, China’s foreign minister visited Samarkand, where he paid tribute to the memory of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
