Resident population of Uzbekistan reached 31,977,100 as of 1 October, State Statistics Committee said. Growth made up 401,800 or 1.3% since the beginning of the year.
Urban population comprised 16,181,400 thousand (50.6% of total population) and rural population 15,795,700 (49.4%).
A total of 532,400 births were registered in January-September, with birth rate at 22.4 per 1,000 (in 2015 — 22.8 ppm). Deaths numbered 108,900 (death rate — 4.6 per 1,000), including 5,600 deaths of infants under 1 year (infant mortality rate was 10.1 per 1,000).
Register offices recorded 176,100 marriages and 22,200 divorces over nine months, with matrimony rate at 7.4 per 1,000 and divorce rate at 0.9.
