Inflation rate in Uzbekistan in the first nine months of 2016 made up 2.2%, a report from the Ministry of Economy and the State Statistics Committee said.

The country’s gross domestic product in January-September increased by 7.8% compared to the same period of 2015, industrial growth made up 7.2%, agricultural production increased by 6.4% and retail turnover by 14.2%. The volume of services increased by 12.4%, used investments by 9.4% and construction works by 15%.

High rates of economic growth were achieved while maintaining macroeconomic balance, characterized by positive trade balance, state budget surplus of 0.1% to the GDP and low inflation, the report said.
