Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan agreed to increase Uzbek exports of a wide range of products during the 12th session of the Joint commission’s on economic, trade, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation held in Tashkent on 26 September. Minister of trade and foreign economic relations Dovran Orazmyradov headed the Turkmen delegation.

As said at the meeting, Uzbekistan plans to expand delivery to the neighboring country of machinery, electrotechnical and chemical products, cars and buses, special and municipal service transport, cotton harvesting and other agricultural machinery, construction materials, consumer electronics, processed fruit and vegetables, etc.

Other items on the session agenda were expansion of cooperation in transport and transit, settlement of property relations, cooperation in technical, scientific and humanitarian spheres, conducting coordinated policy on rational use of the region’s water resources and development of the legal framework.

During the visit to Uzbekistan, the delegation of Turkmenistan also got acquainted with the free industrial and economic zone Navoi and MAN-Auto Uzbekistan joint venture in Samarkand.
