Uzbek-Japanese youth innovation center will open at Tashkent State Technical University (TSTU) named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy, according to a resolution signed by Acting President of Uzbekistan on 19 September.

Governments of Uzbekistan and Japan signed a memorandum on cooperation in establishing the innovation center in October 2015. Universities of Tsukuba, Nagoya, Keio, Toyohashi University of Technology and Tokyo Institute of Technology will be the center’s partners from Japanese side.

The new center aims to create conditions for young scientist and students to master advanced methods and technologies of scientific research in accordance with international practices and standards, as well as to train highly qualified specialists for basic sectors of economy.

The innovation center will employ 27 staff, including 4 Japanese scientists and experts.
