Tariffs for electricity and natural gas in Uzbekistan will increase from 1 October by 5% and 9% respectively, Uzbekenergo and Uztransgaz companies announced.

In Tashkent, cold (5%) and hot water, as well as heating (8%) tariffs will also increase from next month, according to city hokimiyat’s (administration) newspaper Evening Tashkent.

Previously, tariffs for public utilities increased from 1 April.

From 1 October, salaries, pensions and social allowances in Uzbekistan are set to increase by average 15%.
