Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated August 31 approved the Regulations on the order of operation of unmanned flying devices in the civil and state aviation of Uzbekistan, Norma.uz informs.

From January 1, 2015 a total ban on the import, sale and use of unmanned aerial devices (code TN VED 8802 20 000 0) was introduced in Uzbekistan. Since May 2016 the government has provided an opportunity to allow the import, sale and flights of drones with their individual decisions.

The new document defines the difference between toys, airplane models and unmanned aerial devices.

Flying device weighing less than 250 g, falling under HS code 8802 20 000 0, without the function of the autonomous flight control and navigation, not equipped with photographic and video equipment, used to meet the personal needs of citizens is recognized as a toy model of the aircraft. There is no necessity to get permission to use airspace for toy models. Flights of toy models can be performed at a height of 50 meters and at least 150 meters away from the bands of air approaches of airfields, at a safe distance from people and maintaining a constant visual contact with the aircraft.

The toy is not to be confused with the airplane model — flying device weighing more than 250 g, without autonomous function of flight control and navigation, not equipped with photographic and video equipment, intended for educational, sports, cultural activities, as well as the development of technical creativity. Flights of model airplanes are carried out only in special areas of aircraft operations in accordance with the law.

Anything that does not falls under the definition of a toy model aircraft or model airplane is considered to be an unmanned flying device with all its consequences.

The allowance to the operation is given by the State Inspectorate for Safety Oversight (Gosavianadzor).
